DISTURBED Begin Mixing New Album
June 3, 2005DISTURBED are currently in Los Angeles mixing their as-yet-untitled third album with Ben Grosse, who has previously worked with FILTER, SEVENDUST and ALTER BRIDGE, among others. A video shoot for the first single is scheduled for July this year. The video and single are expected to be issued shortly thereafter, with the full-length album slated for release in September. Songtitles set to appear on the still-untitled CD include "Hell", "Decadence", "Monster", "10,000 Fists" and "Deify". The band has recorded 13 tracks, including a cover of "Land of Confusion", the 1986 pop hit by GENESIS. DISTURBED's only other cover, "Shout" by TEARS FOR FEARS, appeared on the band's 2000 debut disc, "The Sickness", after which singer David Draiman said the band would not record any more remakes. But Draiman recently told MTV.com, "I know I said I would never do another cover, but I guess I lied. Just wait until you hear it. We took the synth beat out and riffed it up and chunked it up so it's heavy as f***. Basically, we took all the pop out, and what's cool is that the lyrics are so appropriate for today's times." A late-summer tour is set to begin on August 6 in San Diego CA. This tour will last for about 4-6 weeks. Included is a radio show in Portland, OR on August 10, the 65th annual Black Hills motorcycle rally in Sturgis on August 12 along with several other U.S./Canada locations.
The first European tour in support of the new album is set to begin in October 2005. In November 2005, DISTURBED will be headlining the Jagermeister Music Tour which will carry them into January 2006. MAAW III (Music as a Weapon) tour is scheduled for sometime in 2006.
